yogi yaz

Yaz’ yoga journey began at age 7 when she took her first yoga class at the YMCA after being invited in by the yoga teacher at a class her mom was taking. During that class little Yaz fell in love with the practice and vowed that she too would teach yoga to others one day.

Yaz taught her first yoga class online via Zoom at the start of the pandemic for Yoga Club at UC Irvine. In 2021, Yaz began leading weekly yoga sessions while studying abroad in Barbados. Now she occasionally teaches at The Tree Yoga studio and in the park to introduce yoga to others and flow with the community.

Fast-forward to 2023, Yaz chose to pursue her life-long calling with The Tree Yoga Cooperative, where she earned her Yoga Alliance approved 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training Certification.

SURFSKATE

Yaz started skating as a kid and quickly grew to love cruising. Later on, she started surfskating and quickly created her own type of skating by combing her love for yoga and skating by doing yoga poses while skating. You can checkout her skating edits on Instagram @skatergurlyaz - a page she started to share her surfskate journey during the pandemic.

photography

Amongst other creativity including writing, Yaz loves photography — both digital and film. She shares her film photography on Instagram @shotbywhybe. In college she was on the photography team for UC Irvine’s campus newspaper and in high school she created the fashion page for the yearbook.
